ZOOM Instructions
We are beginning to use the Zoom video conference call system for Bible Study, Story-time, meetings and hopefully some Sunday School soon. If you have used zoom before, you don't need to read this. If you are new to zoom, follow these steps:
1.
You do NOT need to sign in or sign up or create an account.
2.
3.
Some notes about video conference etiquette:
1. When you enter the meeting, you will be muted. Don't worry that we can't hear you. If you tap your finger lightly on your device or move your cursor over the screen, at the bottom left you will see a microphone with a red line through it and a camera. These icons allow you to control if we can see and hear you. Unmute yourself to speak, then mute it again. With lots of people participating, background noise in your house can be a problem for everyone.
2. Please remember that we can see you, which is great and desperately needed. Yet, we also see you at a much closer distance to your face than in real life. So avoid doing embarrassing things. Don't carry your device with you to the bathroom. If you sit with your device resting on your lap, everyone is likely looking up your nose and at your ceiling. Hold or prop your device at a place you would naturally talk to someone. Turn off your camera briefly, or move away from your device if you need to blow your nose, etc. On the other hand, it is also fine if your hair is not done, you don't have make up on, or have been working in the yard. We will be glad to see everyone.

1.
- Download the "Zoom Cloud Meeting" App onto your device. For a laptop/computer, you can download here: Zoom
- For a laptop/computer you will need to grant permission to change your hard drive during installation. Say yes.
- For devices, you will access the app in your app store, google play store, etc. The app is free. Depending on your settings you may need to put in your password to allow the app to install on your device.
You do NOT need to sign in or sign up or create an account.
2.
- To use Zoom: Open your app. Click the Button that says "Join Meeting," It will ask for a meeting ID. You should be notified ahead of time of the meeting ID. Contact Pastor Melissa or Miss. Ida to be included in the notification e-mails. Think of this like a room number in a building. It tells the app which meeting you want to go to.
- The first time, it may ask you to enter your name, this is what will display when you are on. This can also be fixed for you once you join.
3.
- Click "allow" or "yes" to things that say, allow to use camera, allow to use microphone, join with video, join with device audio or join with internet calling.
- On some apple devices you may need to change your settings to allow us to see and hear you. Go to your settings, then privacy, then camera - scroll down to the zoom app and toggle the button to the on position. Then go back and select microphone and do the same thing.
- Also on Apple devices you may see a speaker icon on the top left with a line through it. Click on that to improve the sound.
- You may also call in for audio by calling 646 876 9923 and putting in the meeting code which you can get from Pastor Melissa. This can be done from land line phones. You will be able to hear, just not see everyone. Audio may also be improved by using earphones or ear buds.
